What’s the Best Thing to Do Now? Here it is:

  1. Don’t worry. BE happy.  Like BE happy as a verb, purposefully.  If you do it well it will nullify negative emotions in you.  I got this from Proverbs. It works.  Takes a little practice.
  2. Push.  Even aggressively.  Seek becoming closer and closer to God.  Infact, push to becoming a genuine FRIEND of God.  Yes.  Friend.  Friend of God on a person to Person level.   Then keep getting better at Jesus’ Commands of the New Testament (see list from the side bars of PDF’s you can download.  Or just simply take any statement in the New Testament stated in a command style or implied command style.) Why?  Jesus said you can be called His friend if you obey all of His commands.  Did you know that?
You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you.

You are my friends, if you do what I command you.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

“I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.

You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

3. Pray. Talk to God.  Just start saying whatever comes to you.  You’ll get better at it. Pretty soon you’ll sense that you can start listening to God too.  A lot of us due to various factors, lots of erroneous religious training, mixed with worldly influence maybe, have a wrong image of God and we have been terrified to hear God’s voice thinking that we would maybe explode or be sent off to a distant land right away, or that God would yell at us, or maybe God would be like mean parents and so on… Well.  It’s time to get better with that.

Little by little start trusting God more on a personal, person to Person basis and start opening up your heart more and more.  Just go little by little.  Not too fast.   And I think that you’ll start seeing how wonderful, cool and even funny God actually is.    And as you start drawing closer to God for real, you’ll start seeing that most of everything we do here is to develop an actually great friendship with God, a trusting friendship with God.  A real friendship with God.  A relationship where He believes in you and you believe in Him, personally, on a personal basis.   Maybe you had some of those types of friendships when you were a kid.  Maybe you even have them now.

Build that relationship.  Learn what it means to be inside God. You’ll be safe there:

Proverbs 18:10
The name of Adonai is a strong tower; a righteous person runs to it and is raised high [above danger].

Adonai is a stronghold for the oppressed, a tower of strength in times of trouble.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.

The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah.

For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me, A strong tower against the enemy.

He alone is my rock and my salvation, My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened.
